Student Resources

Academic research is inseparable from education.  One goal of the Biomedical and Health Sciences Institute is to support or develop programs that will help faculty recruit the highest quality students and underrepresented minorities to their programs at the University of Georgia.

Included in this mission was a plan to develop and offer broadly interdisciplinary graduate degree programs in the biomedical sciences.  Today, the BHSI administrates graduate programs in neuroscience,  bioprocessing and biomanufacturing, and, in the near future, a interdisciplinary degree program in biomedical sciences.

In regards to undergraduate education, the BHSI has partnered with the UGA Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities to support laboratory research involving undergraduates, as well as actively participated in undergraduate recruitment efforts at UGA.
