Using Ecological Theory to Inform Zoonotic Disease Research

When: September 10, 2014 at 1:00pm (reception to follow)

Where: Paul D. Coverdell Center, Room 175

Join us for a public lecture by Nicole L. Gottdenker, assistant professor of veterinary pathology in UGA’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Nicole is a disease ecologist and wildlife pathologist who studies impacts of human-caused environmental change on the ecology and evolution of infectious diseases.

Nicole is fascinated with the theoretical and applied ecology of infectious diseases, particularly multi-host vector-borne pathogens, in the context of anthropogenic environmental change. She is also interested in understanding the effects of pathogens on wildlife populations, ecosystem structure and function, and has a particular obsession with Neotropical flora and fauna.
