EID Lecture – Dr. Robert Tauxe, CDC

Robert Tauxe, PhD, MPHOn Thursday, Feb. 10, Dr. Robert Tauxe of the CDC National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases will give a lecture on “Ecology, Disease, and the Food Safety of Fruits and Vegetables” in Room 175 of the Paul D. Coverdell Center.

The seminar will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will conclude with a reception and poster session in the lobby of the Coverdell Center. The EID Lecture Series is sponsored by the Biomedical and Health Sciences Institute.

Disease ecology focuses on understanding how infectious diseases spread through and impact host populations and how hosts and pathogens react and evolve in response to one another. The purpose of the lecture series and the Disease Ecology Initiative is to identify areas of strength and collaborative potential in this field within the UGA research community, as well as expand connections with other regional research institutions.
