Sun exposure expert gives One Health talk, Monday, June 4

Sun exposure expert Michael Kimlin, Ph.D.

On Monday, June 4, the Biomedical and Health Sciences Institute will kick off the One Health@UGA Lecture Series with a seminar from sun exposure expert  Michael Kimlin, Ph.D. at 12:00 p.m. in Room 175 of the Paul D. Coverdell Center on UGA’s South Campus.

Kimlin is the Director of the Australian National Research Center of Excellence in Sun and Health, based at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia.  His presentation, titled “Here comes the Sun: New insights into the role sunlight exposure has on human health,” will overview the traditional and new roles that sunlight exposure has on human health.

More specifically, Kimlin’s talk will examine the current evidence and controversies within this area along with a discussion of public health experiences from Australia.
